Watch and Pray 19th May 2020

Last night I had a dream that I was standing looking up to the sky praying. The sky was blue with fluffy white clouds. As I looked up I heard the words: “and the clouds rollback” and the clouds moved and a figure came forth. As I awoke I was left in awe.

Although no one knows when Jesus will return, I feel strongly that we must be alert – watching and praying. Attentive to the Holy Spirit’s promptings.

Although we may not see the coming of Jesus in our lifetime, His promises are true and one day it WILL happen. Let us do all we can to bring others to Jesus.

Glimpses of Glory

Let’s look at what other people have captured:

““I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, on the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. And to Him (the Messiah) was given dominion (supreme authority), Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations, and speakers of every language Should serve and worship Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14 (AMP)

“Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.” Ezekiel 1:28 (NKJV)

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30 (NKJV)

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” Mark 13:26 (NKJV)

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:27 (NKJV)

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelation 1:7 (NKJV)

 It Is Well

I googled the words I’d heard in my dream and was directed to the hymn “It Is Well”, here’s the lyrics that stood out:

“Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,

The sky, not the grave, is our goal;

Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!

Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight,

The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,

Even so, it is well with my soul.“1

I have always found the end times confronting, there is so much talk of famine and great wars and suffering and pain…..but my glimpse was filled with Jesus’ glory and in that moment all I felt was great excitement, all that mattered was Jesus!

The hymn, “It Is Well”, was written by Horatio Spafford, a man who had experienced great loss: he lost his 4 year old son to scarlet fever and his four daughters when their ship sank while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. His wife survived the tragedy and sent a telegram asking, ‘what shall I do?’. Horatio rushed to be with his wife and when he passed the spot where his daughters had been lost to the sea words of comfort and hope filled his heart and mind, he  wrote them down and they became part of the hymn.2

What Jesus has done for us brings our hearts much comfort and hope, we need not fear the coming judgement day because we are promised that those who believe in Christ are free from condemnation (see Romans 8:1 but I encourage you to also read all of Romans 8).

Praise Jesus!

My glimpse into Jesus’ coming glory has instilled within me blessed assurance.

He is coming! Until He does let us sing His praises:

“Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord — rejoice in his presence!” Psalms 68:4 (NLT)

Lord I’ll watch!

Lord I’ll watch, with my eyes focused on You and my heart full of praise.

Lord I’ll pray!

Lord I’ll pray ‘let Your Kingdom come, let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’

until my last breath.

Lord I’ll love!

Lord with Your great love resounding in my spirit I’ll touch the lives of those around me.

Lord I’ll declare!

Lord I’ll declare Your grace, Your truth and the glory of Your coming.

Lord I’ll watch

Lord I’ll pray

Lord I’ll love

Lord I’ll declare

Now to God, the only wise One, let glorious endless praises resound through the ages, let us lift Him high through Jesus Christ be the glory forevermore! Amen. (Romans 16:27)

Many blessings, Keona
